Stuck [Whining and Complaining]
Well, the good news is that Dr. Doglover thinks it is likely that me not being careful about the dosage of neurontin I was taking might have brought on the seizure. He says it is an unusual reaction, but not one that is unheard of...and I have a history of being very sensative to medication. Of course, it's possible that I really do have some kind of seizure disorder, so I'm going to have another EEG - and he will be able to compare that to the one I had last year, to see if there are any changes.
The bad news is....
that I am not allowed to drive for three months. Three seizure free months. Apparently, it's the law.
Okay. It's a good law. It's a good idea. I understand that it is not appropriate for me to get behind the wheel of a car while the possibility exists that I may have a siezure and kill someone else.
Still, my first thought was Hell No! It's the idea of being dependant on another person to get around. I almost can't stand it. I couldn't stand it all day yesterday. I ran around aggitated and distressed.
Then I realized that this problem is not going to go away and I am going to have to get over it.
I think I can still get back and forth to work via The Hub driving me. It will be a hardship, but for 90 days, we can probably manage it. I can walk to a lot of things. Grocery, Shipping Station, PetSmart, Blockbuster, Pharmacy and three coffee shops are all within walking distance. If I really, truly need to get anyplace else in the County there is a quasi-bus service around. I'm sure that my parents would be willing to help me out occasionally. Deep breath. I can probably handle it. I think.
How folks at work are going to feel about me being in the office by myself while all this is unresolved...well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. I'm off tomorrow.
One day at a time.
so sorry that you are stuck. if you'd like to run postage labels at home without having to walk down the street (especially in this cold!), let us know. we have an extra printer that we're not using and would be perfectly happy to give it to you. it would help us by getting just one more thing out of the house, and, while you hate being stuck inside, you wouldn't have to stand in line at the post office.

I can help out some, too. I'm extra busy through Monday, though.
Maybe you shouldn't have phrased that one sentence that particular way: "...and kill someone else." It sounds a little bit like there was an unspoken "again" in there, as in "Don't you hate when that happens?" ;-)
