Storm's A Commin' [Whining and Complaining]


This article contains one of the most stupid quotes I've heard in a long time. "We know we're going to get a lot of rain, we know this is going to be a water event" says North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley. It's a tropical storm/ hurricane - I'm glad you're not expecting it to be, say, a basketball event.

Local radio says to expect a lot of rain here and in the County - it looks like it's going to start any minute. I hope the roads aren't bad on the way home, but, by now I have experience with all the low lying areas.

One of the worst news bits I've ever seen was the Baltimore Sun's HEADLINE after Hurricane Isabel went through. To this day, I fail to grasp how an editor could let this whopper passed muster:

ISABEL LEAVES WET MESS

Yup; that's right! In all caps, no less. Had the writers/editors all lost their minds? It's a lousy headline! Could they not find anything less like tacky talk by a couple of 13-year-old boys?
