"...for a bird of the air will carry your voice, or some winged creature tell the matter..." --Ecclesiastes 10:20

Who is this mysterious winged creature? Light hearted as the air, she laughes at world, the wise, and herself - but watch out if you tread on the humble or the meek. You may find This Winged Creature has told the matter...

Blah, blah, Wah [Whining and Complaining]

I think I'm getting the flu or something. My throat hurts. I gotta fever. I'm cranky. I get sick so much I even bore myself talking about it. Wah.

We went back to the gallery today to visit our pictures...and everybody elses pictures too. I wanted to go back because I wanted to assure myself that the whole thing wasn't just a dream, but they were there. Geren and Donna were there too, so we hung out with them & then we went to supper at the Forest Diner. They're fun people! Donna said she had a dream that pictures were selling like hot cakes - here's to it coming true.

Friend Will and Scott B. already sold two photographs! It was almost as cool to see the blank spaces on the wall as it was to see the pictures there....

I'm so glad for those guys. I've been telling Friend Will for years now, that his work was great and all it needed was to get someplace where people could appreciate it. It's like "YES! I TOLD you so!" but in a good way. And I've just gotten to know Scott, but he has a great eye for color, and he's one of the genuinely nice guys of the world. One of the best things about doing a show like this with your friends is that you can be just as excited and happy when ANYONE sells a print as you would be if one of yours sold.

The leaves here in Maryland are just about at their peak for color. It's a shame it was such a dreary day or I might have been inspired to go out taking pictures. I find that now, since the show, I don't just tell myself, "Oh, God, that would be such a huge waste of time." And, for some weird reason, I feel much more inspired to write.

Though, actually, I'm a little creeped out....because I started an SF story about a week and a half ago in which part of the action is driven by a devastating earthquake in Japan. Since there is a Second American Civil War in the story too, I'm almost afraid to finish it. ( Ok, Rob, I can hear you rolling your eyes at my startling lack of critical thinking skills here! But everybody knows I live more in my heart than my head) And, when I have a fever my brain kinda turns to mush anyway....

The heck with it, I'm going to bed.

The weather is supposed to get better in the next day or two. I've been dying to go and film the fall color because I want to try some new slide film. If you're feeling better, and the sun comes out, maybe we could take a day trip and get some great pics. My schedule is getting kinda crazy for this week already, but we might be able to squeeze in some time. Maybe we could get some other people in on the fun, too.

We have been saying the same thing about your writing.
