"...for a bird of the air will carry your voice, or some winged creature tell the matter..." --Ecclesiastes 10:20

The Hub Helps Put The Trash Out.... [The Adventures of Handyman]

“Today was kind of exciting.” The Hub reported as he poured our evening tea last night. Actually, it was early this morning, like 12:30am. Sometimes I feel like I'm living in a photo negative.

“What happened?”

“Well, you know I’m working at that client’s house next door to the place where I did all that wood work on the garage. I looked over there and saw that somebody set about five bags of trash beside the garage door….which wouldn’t have been any big deal, except for that they were on fire.”

“Wow. What did you do?”

“I went over there and looked at it and decided it was way too big for me to try to put out with my client’s garden hose. The garage was starting to catch on fire. So I called 911. They told me to bang on the door of the house to see if anybody was in there, but there was nobody home. I knew nobody was there.”

“This was in Howard County, right?”

“Yep. And, God bless those firefighters, they were there in about five minutes. They got their hose out, and as soon as they hit it with water – whoosh! Flames shot out everywhere! But then it was under control and I spent a lot of time talking to the fire investigator.” He paused, “I hope that doesn’t mean they think I set it.”

“I’m sure they don’t think that. When it’s this hot outside, things catch on fire a lot more easily”

“You’re probably right.” He sighed. “Besides, anybody could see how upset I was. They had to tear down all that molding I just put up on that garage last year”

“You hated that job.”

“I hated watching it get torn up worse.” He said, “It was like hating it twice. And it was hot both times.”

Poor Hub.
