Would You Mind Using Words When You Talk? [Office Space]
I just got out of a presentation by the actuarial department. These are the things I was able to understand.
a. We have an actuarial department
b. They are “numbers people” and we are “words people”
c. Numbers people use a lot of percentages when they talk. In fact, it would be fair to say that almost the entire talk was given in percentages. Percentages seem to mean something to numbers people. They can get highly excited about them: smiling, gesturing, waving their hands around. I am convinced that they have meaning, even if I don’t have any idea what it is.
d. I’m glad I don’t work in the actuarial department.
:-D
