Tuna Finished [Office Space]

There’s only so much a person can do with tuna fish. That’s my opinion anyway.

“What’s that you’re eating?” my co-worker asked.

“Tuna finished” I answered without thinking

“What?”

“Oh, I always say that, because, you know, it’s tuna, and lets face it, it’s finished.”

“Well, yeah, if you don’t do anything to it! It’s not like you can just throw it in a bowl with some mayonnaise and let that be the end of it.”

That lead to an intense argument involving two departments and several levels of management about how to make tuna salad. Some days, I just can’t say anything without starting some kind of trouble.

Not that I just threw mayonnaise in there with the tuna. Though there were some people who called themselves “purists” who felt this was the only way to go – maybe with a little salt and pepper.

Mine had onion, Old Bay, and dill in it, along with the mayonnaise and a little bit of lemon juice. But nothing really gets rid of that out-of-the-can taste, completely. Which isn’t surprising because it comes out of a can.

Unless it comes out of a pouch. I tried that one time. Wow that was bad! That tasted like aluminum foil. You can’t win.

Sometimes I put mustard in there to mix it up a little, but that get old fast. I like sweet pickle relish myself.

Hmm sounds like a good party conversation starter. UNLESS the host is actually serving tuna fish salad at the party.

At the Indy, tuna gets mixed with mayo, celery, and a light dash of old bay, salt, and pepper.
