I Couldn't Have Done it Without You [Office Space]
One of the best things about having this blog is the encouragment I get from people who read it. I know for sure that I would never have gone for this promotion if it weren't for all of you, my "blogasphere friends". I would have somehow talked myself out of ever even trying....but once I decided to go for it, I felt like I had a whole cheering section behind me.
Thank you each and all very much, from the bottom of my heart.
I think I am pretty ready to leave this position. Tonight I made 34 telephone calls and interviewed 8 people. The computer goes down more and more regularly. The "after work party" (i.e. people who are off work but just hang around socializing and getting louder and louder and LOUDER) seems to start earlier every night. The substitute supervisor went on vacation
We have nothing resembling a boss.
Conversly, I never knew I was so popular. My co-workers all act like the whole place will fall apart without me. Weird. Now that the news is official, everybody has gone from talking about me to talking to me. That's weird too. You know, I've never been promoted before. It's like people now want to hang out at my desk, hoping to get some lucky vibe to move them ahead. Actually, I think the people who are hanging out with me really do wish me well - they're a different group than the "talkers"
I wonder what's next?
"I wonder what's next?" Looks to me like only good happenings are next! I've always been grateful to know that I'm going somewhere else when I see things where I am going down and down and down...

Posted by: Theresa at September 8, 2006 4:02 PMVery big congratulations Tea! I knew you could do it! I haven't been around on the blogs lately or I'd have dropped by sooner to say "Way to Go!"
