Outtakes [Observations]
Hey Everybody! Stop by the CMPG website to see The Hub's latest photo of Winston, the original and still the best floppy dog.
********
Is it just me, or does anybody else think the John Edwards looks worrisomely like John Ritter?
.....
Speaking of the convention, this man said it all! Barack Obama's speech was the closest I've ever come to completely agreeing with something a politician said....and I'd agree with him even if he were a Republican....but, you see, he's not.

My favorite quote from Winston Churchill is "Never, never, never give up". I can't give up All Around the House. I just can't do it. I think I'm having unrealistic expectations, given the tremendous sucess of The Hub's business. Lots of people who start their own businesses have to start them part time at first....and sometimes run them part time for a fairly long time. I'm not going to give up the thing I do that I think makes the most contribution to society. I may suffer for it, but right now, I'm going to perservere.

Almost all of my male friends and relatives thought that I should scrap the business or sharply curtail any more work on it. Almost all of my female relatives and friends thought I shouldn't give up/ it needed more time/ could be curtailed for the sake of compromise, but, ideally, should be allowed some breathing room. I think all my friends have my best interest at heart....I just think the gender gap is interesting.

Mrs. C.B. doesn't want much in the world. She's mostly devoted to Mr. C.B. and trying to keep him healthy. But she does enjoy soft crabs. She called a local, Manchester place and asked if they had them, how big they were, etc. You can tell, when she's talking on the phone, that she's a little old lady. The woman told her they were "nice size". I got there, and there were 4 little soft shell crabs, about the size of crab cakes, all frozen together with her name on them. $18.00.
"It was just like fryin' spiders" she said, glumly.
Tonight, I went to Park's Landing to get some to take up to her tomorrow for her lunch. These were much bigger then the Manchester ones.
"Oh, those look so much larger than the ones I got at another place." I said to the young man behind the counter.
"Really. They're kinda small for us. I threw an extra one in there, since they're not really full size. $14.00 please."
There you go.
I hate people who stick it to little old ladies. I really do.

Halloween candy is in the market already. I find that scary in and of itself.

Great shot of Winston - no wonder that's a favorite! And you're right about the John Ritter resemblance. I KNEW he looked familiar!
