More Outtakes.... [Observations]
The Hub says: "The only time I ever think some people shouldn't be allowed to breed is when I'm on the beltway."
and, speaking of driving.....
*****
I was on my way up to my brother's dealership to get a part for the car. It was a bright clear day. I had to make a left hand turn, so I put my signel on, and came to a stop to make sure there was no traffic coming up the road in my direction.
Just as I started my turn....
the guy in back of me flew out and passed me ON THE LEFT! It was only a matter of luck that I didn't turn the car right into him.
Holy smoke, I thought, sitting on the side of the road where I had stopped after my turn to compose my shattered nerves, my turn signel must have quit working!
So, I go up to see Bro. As I'm getting ready to leave I say, "Will you take a look at my signel light? It must be out."
"Why?" he asked, so I told him what happened, all the while sitting in the car, with him standing out in back, as I test the turn signels. "Oh, no, both of your signel lights are fine. It's just that you were driving in Pennsylvania" (!?!?)
*******
Well, now it's getting personal. The Hub's niece, a gentle, kind young lady who just graduated from high school and is going to school to become a massage therepist, has recently gotten engaged. The lucky guy is Private 10th Mountain Division - yep, one of our nations young people who served in Iraq. Unlike some people who are against the war, I've certainly never been against the troops. My experience with Private 10th and other people like him is that most people join the milatary services because they have the highest morals and ideals: they just have a different belief about how problems are solved. I have a great deal of respect for him and other people like him who willingly put their lives on the line for what they believe in. And he has. Private 10th has a huge scar running down the arm he almost lost in combat, and this brave young man received the purple heart. At the time, no one could believe he'd be sent back there AGAIN. But, guess what? Niece KindHeart told me, very matter of factly the day of The Hub's party, "as long as he can hold a rifle, they consider him ready to go." Possibly as early as the day before Christmas. This is a guy who wants to do everything right. He spoke to Niece KindHeart's dad before he proposed. He suffered untold amounts of pain and rehab cheerfully. This guy is honest, hard working, and compassionate. He's READY to go back again for the sake of the Iraqi people, whom he says welcomed him as a liberator and have so much wrong with their country they are perfectly willing to take any help from anybody, anywhere. President Bush, if you're reading this, you'd BETTER have a plan to win the peace: because its a crime and a sin to send a man like Private 10th into harms way without all the backing ( like, maybe a few of our allies?) & support he can get. And if you did it on a whim, or without thinking it through, or to avenge your father, or so some soccar mom in a mini-van will vote for you because you kept the price of gasoline low, than may God have mercy on you. I wouldn't even want to be standing within 10 feet of you on the dreadful day of judgement.
That's my opinion.
Watch out. Thou Winged Creature has told the matter.
