"Live Every Day of Your Life" [Observations]
I had a follow up appointment with Dr. Doglover today. By the grace of God, there wasn't that much to talk over, so I don't have to go back for another 4 months unless something else happens to me. But there's no reason to think it will. He told me that some people go for many years on medication such as mine, only checking in once a year with no other problems.
That was good news: I'll take it.
Then I went up to the mall to get my hair cut and my eyebrows done....
weirdly, it looks to me like I have more eyebrows now than when I started, but that could be because I also have bangs (again). This isn't exactly the haircut I asked for (and I even took a picture with me!) But, since it's the haircut I've got, I'm determined to get along with it.
I found some jewelry to go with my "party dress" for the Harry Potter party tonight. I'm sure that I'll be the only woman my age there in costume, and there was a time when that would have been enough to stop me from dressing up, and maybe even from going.
Now that I've become more determined to live every day of my life, I figure, the hell with it. And besides, if somebody else thinks it's silly or unseemly, well, they can just stay home. After all, the day after "The Sopranos" ended half of the radio shows on NPR were given over to discussing the ending, and if anybody thought that was a waste of time nobody whose comments made the airwaves said so.
Still, though, I'm looking at my outfit and thinking "Wow. That's a lot of purple." Oh well, too late now. Besides, I got two really great looking owls, one for me and one for Theresa, at Michaels on my way back from the doctors office. I mean, any party where you have an excuse to carry around a fake owl is sure to be a lot of fun. I think Theresa said she made hats for us - and I know it's going to be a pretty big crowd because she said she went by the bookstore at 9:00a.m and the line to get wrist bands was all the way up the block!!
I told The Hub I'd be home late. I bet those balloons will really be a challenge tomorrow morning...because I know I'm going to start reading as soon as I can.
Oh, yeah, and I'm going on media blackout until I finish the book, like Friend Will suggested. So if something terrible happens I'll be totally uninformed unless The Hub tells me, and probably a lot happier.
Hmm. Maybe I should be on media blackout all the time.
Today I made us both hats, wands, and masquerade ball masks on sticks. I also whipped up a short cape to go with a brown dress I found yesterday. I managed to get us silver wrist bands, so we will be the 2nd group in line for our books!! Whoo hoo!
Posted by: Theresa at July 20, 2007 8:34 PMI actually only stood in line from about 10:20 to 11:00, but the line reached all of the way to the Jo-Ann's! I also got us 2 raffle tickets!! How cool is that?
Hey everybody - We got so many compliments on our owls!!!
