Layers and Layers of Redneck Hair [Observations]
Well, the general opinion is that my hair turned out very well....and Ishmial got the job. He also got 3 new clients right off the bat - so that says something - that three women in the office called after I came in and set appointments up with him right away.
"You'll have to use half a day vacation for as much time as you were gone" my boss said. She said it cordially, neutrally. Like I said, she's not big on drama.
"That's fine, no problem. I'm happy to use my time to help someone else". I said in the exact same pleasant way....
There's no need for her to dock me. I could easily make up the time and had told her that if I ran long I'd be glad to do just that. But every good thing I have ever done has come back to me "packed down, measure for measure" just like it says in the book of Matthew....and it's also said that what all of us do, kind or unkind, comes back to us the same way....though what comes back to her is between her and God, of course.
But enough metaphyisics - you want to hear about my hair.
The thing was that I gave him free rein in the interview to do whatever he wanted - whatever he could showcase to get himself the job. The only thing I asked was that it be short enough in the front that it didn't hang it my face. Everything else, color included, I left up to him.
I what I got is a single shade lighter than my natural dark blonde hair was in the back with red low lights. The person who was doing the interview told Ishmial that he'd "got a hard model" with "natural hair color only just on the warm side but skin so light almost everybody would miss that, the whole thing is subtle"
"The coloration of most of our clients is not as complex as this." she said, tactfully. When the process was done, I knew the fellow had the job because the whole audience of onlookers - the poor man had a crowd - was impressed. All the sunbleached, really damaged hair that framed my face was gone, and since he was adding color in, not bleaching it out.
But, to me, the cut was what was really a winner. And I would have never, in a million years, asked for it. It's the kind of cut the die-hard redneck girls in high school used to wear...Farrah Fawcett hair WAY after Farrah Fawcett was cool. But now-adays, Farrah seems to be a non-issue, and this cut makes my face look thinner and my hair look polished without being shellacked with product. I'm really pleased with it.
So, alls well that ends well with that adventure. Onward and upward!
This would be a good time to incert a photo of the new cut............I haven't seen you sence Antietam.

Hmmm, sounds like your complicated hair was a perk for Ishmael. If you had easier hair, he wouldn't have been able to look as good at the end of the interview.
