H.G. Wells...."A Travel Site" [Observations]
The Hub and I decided to go out to San Diego for a vacation in September. It's been awhile since we've gone any place, except to the beach.
I've always wanted to go to San Diego. My mom lived out there for a little while when she was a child and it always sounded fabulous, though she didn't like it very much. That whole earthquake thing: I suppose that IS worrisome.
We decided not to use the travel site where the times for the flights were so borked up that, in many cases, you got there before you left ( a really serious problem, when you think about it since it's EARLIER in San Diego than it is here). We used Travelocity instead. I'll let you know if we see the gnome.

If you were going fast enough to make the trip from MD -> CA in less than three hours, you would indeed land at a local clock time earlier than when you left. Too bad you can't book onto an SR-71. :-)
What travel site was this? Whenever I've noticed weirdness like that, it took me quite a few minutes to realize that there was an extremely long layover and that, say, you'd leave BWI at 10 AM and not get there until eight the next morning.

I'd love to go to San Diego someday as well. I have a friend who grew up in the area and she loved it! May your vacation be magical - be sure to let us know how it was when you get back!

It was Priceline, if I remember correctly. I spent a very long time looking at it, thinking that I had misunderstood something like the dates, and going through the whole thing in my head ("Okay, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west...)before concluding that it wasn't me, the site was, in fact, borked. Though with layovers and what-not it is going to take us practically a whole day to get home. The Travelocity site was really easy to use though.
