Happy Lunar New Year! [Observations]
Okay, everybody, I'm starting over. I have decided that not to accept the western calander and consider this my New Year's Day. It's the start of the Lunar New Year, The Year of the Rooster. Miss Kitty has some great information on The Year of the Rooster at her site.
But, basically, I just had so much crappy stuff happen in January that I feel like I can use a new start already. So we went to the Chinese restaurant - NOT the one that we ate at before The Hub got sick. Maybe they were just trying to keep demons away - running the vaccuum cleaner like that all through our meal. Excuse me if I'm not being culturally sensative - but I didn't think so. I felt like I was getting a pretty clear signel to hurry up and leave. So I did. But all I left was a 10% tip.
Usually, I don't get so annoyed. I pride myself on being hard to cheese off. But I'm in a bad mood because of my back. It's really acting up, sending those old shooting pains down my legs and causing me to drag the left one when I walk a little. Ugh. Time to go back to the chiropractor. I can't help but get a little scared. I don't want to go back to not being able to do things....or my cane. Yikes! The horror. Then what would I do?
( don't think about it)
Anyway, I'm still keeping up my walking progam even though I think I probably fried the new pedometer I got. There's no way that I only walked 20 steps between 12:30 and 3:00 this afternoon. But what can you expect from a $3 pedometer from Walmart?
I still got a lot of housecleaning done. When I went down into the basement with the laundry, I didn't remember that The Hub bought Vio-kitty one of those toys with realistic animal fur and hung it from the pvc pipes above the washer. I felt something creepy brush against my leg, and when I turned on the overhead light and saw what I thought was a rodent floating in mid-air I almost screamed my head off. Thankfully, I'm not quick to scream. This is especially good since I was also speaking on the telephone at the time.
But I bet that got my heart rate up a lot higher than it was during my walk. Jeepers!
Happy Lunar New Year to you too Tea. Here's the page where I found all the Rooster stuff. It describes all of the other years too so you can your own personalized horoscope!
