Flashback! [Observations]
I went to the Goodwill today and you'll never guess what I ran into. My junior prom dress. Not one just like it, I mean, MY junior prom dress. It was a size five. It was much, much worse than I remember it being. It was that girly pink which I didn't like even at that time, but it had a lot of ruffles at the top which I sort of needed. Actually, at 5 ft 10" and wearing a size five I pretty much needed all the ruffles I could get. I don't remember what my mother paid for it. (Though I was trying to keep it on the inexpensive side) But whatever it was it was too much.
After I wore it, I gave it to a girl who was going out with a guy I'd once liked. I guess she or her family gave it to the Goodwill. I think it's going to be there awhile. Really. A long while.
wow! when someone else knows a person you haven't seen in years, you say "gee - what a small world", but what do you say when you run into a dress...and one that you didn't like to start with??? "argh, i wish I had a pair of scissors on me right now"?
i remember my prom dress search. It was the only time my mother ever took me to Garfinkel's at Montgomery Mall -- which was THE PLACE to shop back then. I look back now and realize it must have been a real stretch for my parents to splurge like that!
