"...for a bird of the air will carry your voice, or some winged creature tell the matter..." --Ecclesiastes 10:20

Who is this mysterious winged creature? Light hearted as the air, she laughes at world, the wise, and herself - but watch out if you tread on the humble or the meek. You may find This Winged Creature has told the matter...

Everybody's Got an Opinion [Observations]

This just in.....You know that print ad that says that goldfish have a memory of about 3 seconds? Don't believe it. Actually, somebody told me they could learn to swim mazes. I don't know if that's true or not, but I'm starting to think they're smarter than they look.

The Hub is very fond of his two long lived gold fish. Admiral is the gold colored goldfish and Akbar is the black one with the bulging eyes. If you're thinking there's a Star Wars reference there, you're right.

Anyway, we're used to everything that moves in the house having an opinion, or, at least seeming to.....

The dog lets out a well timed "woof" as if in agreement, the pair-a-tweeters seem to be discoursing on all manner of things. You feel like if you could only slow them down to 45 rpm you'd understand what they're saying. K-bird of course, lets us know how she feels all the time: parrots are all about body language, though she's learning to talk quite well. She learned how to make a sound best described as a bronx cheer....and she knows how to use it too!

But who'd think we'd start hearing from the gold fish? The Hub feeds them at about the same time each night, but sometimes a little on the late side. Anyhow, I guess old Akbar has recently gotten sick of waiting around. He's started to head butt the opening in the top of the tank, causing the flap to open and then bang shut if The Hub waits to long with the fish flakes.

I thought gold fish were supposed to be relaxing.

If that box turtle that sometimes stops by the garden says anything I'm leaving!

Animals are a lot smarter than we're taught and yes, they have things to say if only we could understand them! I've noticed that even little fish will let you know what they want! And our cat is downright bossy! Maybe there's some kind of lesson there somewhere...that we're supposed to truly try to understand others even if it's difficult...who knows?

My bettas look expectant when I come in to use the computer, so I usually drop a little food in the bowls.

Expectation of food seems to make Bonnie remember everything we ever taught her.

I'd make a crack about how even the fish are in charge at your house, but my old man would have to tell me that the pot is calling the kettle black.

You don't have to wonder why my fish are fat and the dog asks for a tummy rub when I tell her it's time for bed instead of hoping up like an obedient little doggie should.
