Could This Be What Normal Is Like? [Job Outside The Box]
Mr. C.B. got out of the hospital today! It was great to see him settled in his own favorite armchair at home. I don't think life inside his head is all that bad. It's true that he has alzhiemers, but some times I like his reality better.
"What did you have for breakfast, hon?" his wife asked him.
"Um. Lets see. Pancakes, bacon, toast, eggs, waffles, scrapple....it was all good."
In real life, he had an egg and a little bit of toast, but, what the hell? Now, for his wife it's a whole different story....They say I might be at risk for getting alzhiemers disease, but if I do, I think it'll be worse for The Hub than it is for me. After all, I'm half out of my mind already.
Anyway, The Hub finished his WEB class and now he can work full time. Yeah! Of course he has to study up and get his MHIC #, but he has overcome a big hurdle and I'm proud of him.
It was also great to know that Friend Will, who has a new website ( www.burnham-down-the-house.net) doesn't have anything more serious than a bulged disk in his back....that's painful, but it's better than having some wierd, unknown, lurking shadow on your MRI which was what was going on at first.
Dare I hope that my life is entering a period of something like being normal?
Did you hear/read that James Doohan (Scotty of the classic Star Trek series) has been diagnosed with Alzheimers? He's doing one last convention this summer and will appear for having his name on Hollywald's walk of fame-these are expected to be his last 2 public appearances.
As for normal-it's never normal. They talk about normal highs and low temps for a certain day, but it's always above or below normal. If normal exists at all, it is the average for a certain time over the years. A baseball player hits above or below his average in a certain game. A person's productivity/creativity is above or below that compared to the day/week/year before. As such, our days will always be below or above average compared with this day over our past day. Here's wishing you many days above average!
