"...for a bird of the air will carry your voice, or some winged creature tell the matter..." --Ecclesiastes 10:20

Who is this mysterious winged creature? Light hearted as the air, she laughes at world, the wise, and herself - but watch out if you tread on the humble or the meek. You may find This Winged Creature has told the matter...

More Weird Dreams [Interior Life]

Who needs TV when your dreams are as weird, and vivid as mine are? This is one I had the other night:
In my dream I could see the front of the white house ( you know, the president's house) all lit up from the inside, as I guess it is. I've seen it that way in photographs. Anyway, the doors opened and a procession of angels began a stately progression out.
The angels, as they appeared were tall, gleaming white and sort of transluscent. They were both male and female angels, and some of them carried banners which fluttered in the wind. They were dressed in long, shining robes, yet they were not really "dressed" at all. They manifested, and clothing was part of the manifestation of their appearance. Each one had wings which were double his height, and as they walked their wings unfurled....

....One of the strangest things, to me, anyway, is that I don't exactly believe in angels in the way that these appeared. I mean I believe very firmly in the office of angels - that is to be a messenger from God. I think that ordinary people can sometimes fill the office of angels.
I believe that there could be other beings in the world who are more like the angels people depict in paintings. But I've never really bought into the whole "army of angels" concept - believing that when such descriptions appear in the Bible they are metaphors to help us earth bound people more fully understand the point.
However, these angels were not metaphors. They would have looked right at home in an illustration around the edges of a print of the lyrics to "Onward Christian Soldiers", and the only thing that kept them from looking truly frightening in a here-comes-justice-and-you-deserve-it kind of way, was that they looked deeply, deeply sad.
I walked up to the gates and there beside me I saw a man who could also see them (there were numbers of people walking by on the street who could not)
"What's going on?" I asked him.
"They're leaving" he said, which certainly struck me as stating the obvious, but he seemed to not be able to believe it. He turned to look at me. He was a very ordinary looking man, close to me in age, wearing an overcoat and an old hat of the type serious men my father's age used to wear to church. He struck me as a serious man my own age, a white man, with brown eyes and strong, Roman features. "This is the first time this has ever happened" he added.
"I don't understand" I said.
"This legion angels have been guardians over the president ever since the office was established. They have guarded the office of the president, you understand, not the man himself, and they have done so without regard to the moral condition of the man who held the office or the people who surrounded him. It is for the sake of all of the people who would be affected by the power of the office that they have stood guard there, and made easy the path of work, reflected and multiplied the good they could find and turned away as much evil as they could."
I was thinking about all the people who have held the office. There certainly have been some duds, and it was hard to believe that the angels weren't worn down to little protoplasmic nubs from fighting all the goings on there for 200 years. "Why are they leaving now?"
"They have been recalled to God. They have been made so unwelcome there, and the occupants of the place have offended God. Now the whole place will be unguarded."
"So evil is going to get the upper hand?" I asked, in disbelief.
"I don't think so." the man said. "I think that now the Law of the World will rule there, and the highest virtue of that law is Truth. I think we will be truly amazed at what we will learn has happened there, because the Truth cares only for itself and not who rises or falls because of it. Still it is a dangerous and sad night, and many more will come."
I never claimed to be a Bush fan, or even a conseravtive. And though I think that war may be offensive to God in and of itself, I certainly don't think I thought that Bush was any worse than, say Nixon, or Buchannan, or any number of other losers you could name.
I guess my subconcious mind is even more of a liberal than I am!
( I guess the Secret Service is going to come visit me in my next dream, on account of me writing this down. Sigh)

I had a friend who dreamed this fabulous dream about us going on vacation together. He had eaten an ice cream sandwich before bed.
