Dizzy Days [Interior Life]
This has not been a good week. No traffic at the condos have made it an agonizingly slow week. I'd almost think of looking for another job.....but it's all I can manage to do the one I have. As epicly boring, low level and dull as it is, I'm damn lucky to have it.
And, as it was, it was probably good that there wasn't really any traffic, because I didn't take my cane with me any of the days. I haven't needed it since I finished up with physical therepy.
Toward the start of the week, I noticed that I was more and more unsteady on my feet....
but it wasn't anything to write home about. And, after all, this is allergy season. Hay fever and all of that. It just kept getting worse and worse and worse. (And I kept telling myself "it's not, it's not, it's not") Finally, today, The Hub and I were walking into to Target. My feet and my brain suddenly lost track of which way was "forward". The next thing I knew I'd turned sharply to the left and walked right into a wall.
It was terribly embarrasssing, to say nothing about a real test of the flexiblity of my flexible eyeglass frames. When we got back home, I picked up the cane from where it had been sitting, all this time, by the back door.
Everybody at WAM gave it the hairy eyeball as I came in, but nobody mentioned it. I figured it was better than falling over. Among options anybody has for dealing with things, falling over is almost never a good one.
Then the battery on my cell phone completely crapped out. The replacement battery cost $50! It's a lithium battery. As if this is some sort of explanation. I mean, I'm sure it is. I'm sure that I'm fully capable of understanding it too. I just don't feel like it. I'd rather complain. I mean 50 bucks is 50 bucks!
Of course, everybody I know is having a bad week. The boss is messed up because of no / slow traffic. The building super became embroiled in some kind of pissing match with the cabinet guys at another property. The uber-boss is upset because she can't figure out if one of her staff is ever going to come back from sick leave, if the woman has taken a turn for the worse, died, lost her mind, or just looking for another job.
The coffee shop at WAM had the worst week ever (the owner told me) and he has to go to an opera. A couple of vendors got disgusted by the slow pace of business and were packing up and leaving.
The Hub's client is upset because he did exactly what she told him to do. She understands that it's her fault. But she's still asking The Hub to undo all the work he did. It's unclear it she understand's she's going to be responsible for payment both times. The Hub himself has to go to work at 6:00 in the morning tomorrow. I hope nobody asks him any questions right when he shows up, because he'll probably still be snoring.
The parakeets laid another egg which wasn't viable. The K-Bird's swing / perch got re-located to the dining room window because The Hub is going to start demolishing the kitchen soon. As in beginning a renovation, not doing anything drastic, such as trying to cook. Still.
Even Winston has ear wax.
So, I guess dizziness is a pretty minor problem. I still hope it goes away soon, though.
How old is your phone? Usually, the reason that the replacement batteries are so expensive is that by the time they're ready to die, your provider is looking for you to upgrade to a new phone. If you're on a Verizon plan other than month-to-month, you should be able to "upgrade" your phone at some interval at no cost to you, and you should take advantage of that.
If that's not an option, I would recommend Googling your phone model and see if someone out there on the net can sell you one cheaper than the guy at the local wireless store.
