I Have Seen The Future.... [Gardening]

....and it involves bread and butter pickles!! These three cucumbers are the very first vegetables we have harvested from our garden. I planted the seeds in the worst of the poor soil in our backyard, but we now have prolific vines and lots and lots of little cucumbers to follow these first ones. I made cucumber salad, a favorite of The Hub with one, but it looks like it's time to get my Ball Blue book of canning ( I heard that thought, Friend Will! Behave!!) down from the cabinet and get this party started.

Crap - I just realized I never got you the recipes for the salads from the 4th of July. And I never did remember what it was that else I needed to send to you in email. Feh.

Way to go, T! We always had a garden when I was growing up, and my mom has an incriminating picture of me, wearing a pink gingham dress, standing in the living room holding a 13-inch cucumber that "I" had grown. My mom made bread&butters every summer. They're still my favorite, though no store-bought comes close to hers!
Good luck with the pickles; I'm sure they'll be great! Enjoy the process!

Hmm.. That means I should check under all of the weeds and other plants to see what we have in the garden. ;)
