What Kind of Person Are You, Anyway? [Dog Blog]
My client, Cat Lady, has a theory that people are either Dog People or Cat People. You can be a Dog Person who likes cats or a Cat Person who likes dogs....but, it's not like being bisexual.....you can't be both at the same time. According to her, I am a Dog Person even though I have both a cat and a dog. Only a true dog person would have SUCH a dog as Winston and besides, I place a high value on loyalty.
According to her theory, Cat People place a higher value on independance. It's not that Dog people don't value independance, it's that, if push comes to shove, if the rubber hits the road, if somethin's gotta give Dog People will chose the path of loyalty and Cat People will chose the path of independance every time.
If her theory is correct it would explain why I now have two large dogs chasing each other around the office as I try to write this blog.
You see, it snowed. And it kept on snowing. It started to pile up. And The Hub has obligations....he can't keep the 4 wheel drive jeep at my disposal. And I have to take care of the Canine Client.
So, here she is, crate, food, toys, chewys and all. Winston doesn't know what hit him. He was in absolute astonished ecstasy for 15 minutes when she first came in "Hey! Hey! It's a GIRL! It's a GIRL" ....then his enthusiasm seemed to wane as it dawned on him that he couldn't do anything about it. But then he was like "Oh, well, okay, somebody to play with anyway!" and that's what they've been doing for about an hour.
The Canine Client, who is 7 months has much more energy than Winston. But Winston has a supremely patient nature and no doubt I will get tired of the tails whapping into things much sooner than he will give the doggie signel to "knock it off" - usually a short growl and a "for show" show of the teeth.
I'm ready for bed now....but it's supposed to keep snowing until Wednesday. Well, I guess The Canine Client has to sleep some time.
Whee! Doggie playtime!! I wish I was there, too!

(Heck, I'm still doing the part of the SLJ that went from Will to Geren to me, and planning to stay there at least through this year!)
