Gone to the Dogs! [Dog Blog]
I'm finally doing it. I'm so excited! I can hardly wait!
Oh, for crying out loud not THAT. I've been happily married for years - thanks.
This weekend I am going dogsledding. Well, okay...it's more like a dogsledding seminar - heavy on the theoretical, light on adventure. I chose the "dip a toe in" approach mostly because cold is one of the triggers for my asthma and I had trouble as recently as January when I planned the trip. I try very hard not to be one of those irresponsible asthmatics who wanders off mindlessly without my inhaler- then ruining somebody elses day on account of they had to call EMS.....
But, if I do well in the cold with the other activities we have planned (snow shoeing, tubing...possibly some cross country skiing...maybe horseback riding) I'll definately come back for one of their more active adventures. Because dogsledding is on my list of things to do before I die.
Not that I plan to die soon. Although you never know. That's the point. It's good to have a list.
I've already crossed off three items 1) to see a palm tree in it's natural habitat (when I went to Florida 10 years ago) 2) to see a saguaro cactus in it's natural habitat (Arizona - was that 3 years ago?) and 3) to see a wild whale in the ocean. I actually did that twice: once in Cape May New Jersey and again when we lived in New England, where the whale watching was seriously spectacular.
These things might not sound like much to other people, but to me they're real goals. And it's important to have goals...even if they're goals like "going to the dogs!"
(I'll be back on Monday)
Sounds like fun! Enjoy yourself.

You definitely need to post some photos when you get back.
