We didn't get the Bernese Mountain Dog after all. The client took the dog to the vet who said he felt he ought to board her, since the problem she was having with her head was not getting better in a timely way. As psyched up as I was for a guest dog, it's probably just as well that she didn't come. I would have been very worried if she had a problem that got worse while I was taking care of her.

Lately I've been thinking that maybe I'd make a good dog shelter volunteer. It would be kind of like me doing prison ministry (in which I have always been interested and which causes The Hub to actually leap up and down and flap his arms in protest, frightening the parakeets and largely ending the disucssion).
