Well, Jeff King has pulled out in front in the 39th Iditarod...so I'd be real surprised at this point to see any team of underdogs come out with a surprising win. The only things that could stand in the way of his victory now would be unforseen, unfortunate circumstances - and I wouldn't wish that on anybody, especially not a guy who is running 1100 miles behind a dogsled!

Still in awe of the time the front runners are making this year.

I tell Winston all about it every night when I get home. But he just lays in front of the fire and patiently waits for a belly rub. Nothing impresses a mastiff. Or maybe the call of the wild is just too far away from his world of awaking asthmatics, guarding parakeets, and looking hopeful for leftovers that he just doesn't hear it.
