Apologies for the problems that some of you may have experienced trying to access SWC. The poor girl's been under assault by idiot comment and trackback spammers for days, and it had got to the point of seriously affecting how the site ran.
I've just upgraded the [URL=http://www.sixapart.com/movabletype]MovableType[/URL] software that runs the back-end, cleaned up the database, and installed the updated [URL=http://www.jayallen.org/projects/mt-blacklist/]anti-SPAM tool[/URL] that goes along with it. Already, in the last hour, it's blocked almost four dozen spam attempts. So, thanks for your patience and we hope that this problem will not recur.

Ha! At least you were able to resolve it. Dooce.com still hasn't re-enabled comments but that may be due to the fact that she kinda liked the extra time she got by putting them on hiatus.

Well, it's just before midnight here, and almost 100 comment spam attempts have been blocked this evening alone. Evil little buggers. Fortuntately, the winged one has Geeks For Hire™.
I've also done some magic meta-tag mojo to remove the comment and trackback forms from search engine indexes. Shields are up and holding.

PLEASE pay attention to "The Man Behind The Curtain" Rob is the man who makes this blog possible on many levels - he does all the hard work - all I do is write the nonsense that comes into my head!
