"...for a bird of the air will carry your voice, or some winged creature tell the matter..." --Ecclesiastes 10:20

Who is this mysterious winged creature? Light hearted as the air, she laughes at world, the wise, and herself - but watch out if you tread on the humble or the meek. You may find This Winged Creature has told the matter...

The Letter of the Law [Blog]

I'll have to wait another month for health insurance. The insurance company will only accept someone at the beginning of the month - and since I started on the 5th, I have to wait until November 1.

" I don't know why they're being so inflexible about it." The HR guy said, " I can usually charm them."

"I'm sure they have their costs to watch." I said. I certainly wasn't going to say he's not that charming!

Anyway, I feel like any problem I was having with my thyroid is going away....

Maybe I'm just depressed. There hasn't been any activity on the house since we had two families for the open house on Sunday. I knew that was a bad day for an open house, since there was a festival going on in town. But the realtors say not to do it on a Sunday when the Ravens are playing at home. I feel resentful that a bunch of overweight guys in purple jerseys and way-tight pants can have an impact on my home sale.

Of course, it's just as well. The dog has co-opted the bed in the guest room and that comforter is filty. I'll have to wash it again. Anyone considering getting a mastiff ought to realize they will have a huge increase in the amount of laundry they have to do. He looks pretty weird in there with his huge box-like head on the floral pillows and his enourmous paws entangled in the lace trim. This is a comforter I got for a dollar at a yard sale, but still, I didn't buy it as a dog bed.

I wonder if it would help to bury a statue of St. Joseph upsdide down in the yard? I don't know why anybody thinks that helps, but some people think it does. Help sell the house, I mean. Apparently if you can't get the dog off your spare bed, the saints can't help you. You're on your own.

Maybe you need to bury a St. Francis with your St. Joseph!
Have you seen the home selling kits in the Catholic book store? Kinda funny.

Lynn,
I know all about the effect that football season has on a sizeable percentage of people and there is nothing that can be done about it. Everything takes a back seat to the pigskin gods of the gridiron. and the cult of the NFL. I too OCCASSIONALY participate, but only when there really is nothing else fun to do.

PS, Have you and Will watched the BSG Miniseries dvd I sent home with Will the other night? Can't wait to hear what you both think.
