The Bird You Thought You Knew... [Blog]
Change is the only constant. That's probably a quote that ought to be attributed to somebody. I'll attribute it to The Hub, he says it all the time.
Those of you who have been advised of my change of venue, my friends, the cognosenti, may or may not find this blog too much different from the last one. My previous blog was much more transparent, my identity, and that of those around me, startlingly clear. With transparency came responsibility though, and whether it was needed or not, I felt an increasing need to limit, edit, or delete whole chunks of the honest life I was trying to share with anyone who cared to share with me.
What freedom will my new "annoymous" status bring?
Who can say? But be prepared to experience both some shadow and some light. No, I'm never going to take my life too seriously - I have too many people around doing that, so you can be sure I'll continue to laugh in the face of whatever there is to laugh in the face of.
I had very few comments before. People were reading, but no one was writing - or if they did they said very little. I hope here to connect more with others. I love comments. I thrive on ideas. Tell me what you think, tell us all your story, lift up your voice. Expect my in-laws to be shocked, for soon links will be posted to my most deeply cherished causes. Expect to hear about religion, or at least faith, for my Christian life is inseperable from any other part. Expect to hear about politics, expect to hear my most radical ( and most moderate) viewpoints. This isn't the dinner table, or a cocktail party. ( I've never been to a cocktail party. Maybe I'll have to have one. Maybe I'll just a have a few cocktails and ont worry about it) You'll have to put up with some poetry, but , don't be too afraid, it's mostly the classics. Expect to hear what happens in the woman's room, the checkout line, and on the way to work....all the places where people think their little slights and unkindnesses to those they see as "beneath them" go unoticed. Now, I won't only notice. I'll broadcast.
Expect to be surprised, even you who thought you knew me. You ain't seen nothin' yet.
