"...for a bird of the air will carry your voice, or some winged creature tell the matter..." --Ecclesiastes 10:20

Who is this mysterious winged creature? Light hearted as the air, she laughes at world, the wise, and herself - but watch out if you tread on the humble or the meek. You may find This Winged Creature has told the matter...

Sometimes..... [Bird Blog]

....no matter how good your intentions are, how carefully you carry them out, how much you will and wish for a good outcome the odds are too great to overcome.

Poor BB didn't make it. I can't say that I'm terribly surprised. He was probably injured in his fall from his nest, wherever it was. I guess he was a casualty of one of the rain storms we've been having.

I hope I helped him on some level, but I worry that I just made his last hours worse. Anyway, I'll just have to move on, and hope to do better the next time I'm called upon to be of help to some innocent creature.

You did what you were called to do. That creature was put into your hands because you were the one person there who could bring comfort to a dying creature, instead of suffering in its last hours.

You did well.

agreed. you did what you could -- maybe he even died believing he was safely in the company of his siblings! no matter how hard we try they will always be things beyond our control. i'm sure you did your best & BB has probably gone and told the (good!!!) matter in birdie heaven!

I've tried to save little birds too. Never had any success. But that doesn't mean we can't try to help our little friends! You did good, Tea!

At least was comfy when he passed away, in a nice nest with soft toilet paper buddies.
