"...for a bird of the air will carry your voice, or some winged creature tell the matter..." --Ecclesiastes 10:20

Who is this mysterious winged creature? Light hearted as the air, she laughes at world, the wise, and herself - but watch out if you tread on the humble or the meek. You may find This Winged Creature has told the matter...

Parakeet Dreams [Bird Blog]

This is a dream I can tell you. A weird dream, but a good dream. One of those "wish fullfilment dreams".

I dreamed there was a new parakeet cage in the space where the old parakeet cage was. So I looked and there was a parakeet in there! It was one of those "lime colored" parakeets, you know: like a cross between a yellow and a green one, with some bars around the head. And he had an ivory colored beak like Blondie did.

It looked like Blondie. Just the way it moved around in the cage and the chirping noises it made...

were a lot Blondie's. Then I looked more closely in the cage, and there was a huge egg in there, and it began to crack open. There was another parakeet in there - a full grown one, not a baby bird. It was rocking the egg back and forth. It seemed like it was taking forever the parakeet to get out of there.

The first one came over to see what was going on, and started to chirp and beak at the crack in the egg. For all the world, it looked like the first one was saying "For goodness sake, can't you even get out of the egg? You're such a clutz!" and then the second one popped it's head out of the egg and made the same noise Dorothy Dagwood made when she was irritated with Blondie.

The second parakeet looked a lot like the first one except the bars were more pronounced and it had a dark beak like Dorothy Dagwood's. They sat up on opposite perches and looked at each other for a long moment. Then it was like they recognised each other and started to preen each other in exactly the same way Blondie and Dorothy Dagwood used to do.

All of the sudden I knew that the parakeets WERE Dorothy Dagwood and Blondie in their "new incarnation" And I knew that the reason why they were both such an unusual color, the blend of green and yellow, was because they had been so much in love in their "past life" that they had achieved some kind of mystic unity in the pair-a-tweeter after world. This union had affected their appearance in their new incarnation and they would try to make their way back to one another in their new life.

The ulimate, epic love story featuring creatures with brains the size of peas.

Then again, you don't have to be smart to be deeply in love.

Really.
