"...for a bird of the air will carry your voice, or some winged creature tell the matter..." --Ecclesiastes 10:20

Who is this mysterious winged creature? Light hearted as the air, she laughes at world, the wise, and herself - but watch out if you tread on the humble or the meek. You may find This Winged Creature has told the matter...

Just Hanging Around [Bird Blog]

I got one of those battery operated tooth brushes for $8. Listen, this is a major purchase for a tightwad like me, okay? And then the battery quit working and I can't figure out how to take it out and get another one. So I just use it the way you use an old fashioned tooth brush.

None of this is the point of the story.

Kendi sits on my shoulder while I do my teeth. Actually, when I'm at home, Kendi sits on my shoulder almost all the time, except if she is on her swing, her perch, or the kitchen island, which she has pretty much taken over as her own personal play gymn. She's always seemed very interested in the whole tooth brushing ritual, watching the whole thing intently. Sometimes she scurries down my arm to the sink, to let me know she'd like a drink of water....

so I turn it on for her, and she drinks from the faucet.

But, last night, as the tooth brush neared her shoulder perch, she reached out with one foot and swung herself aboard! She was hanging, upside down, from my tooth brush and I could not get her off! Furthermore, she kept looking at me like "Why aren't you moving it back and forth? I want my ride!"

She's such a FAST little senegal! She does the most unexpected things!

I wonder what bed time is like for normal people?

Oh, dear - we're going to have to have an intervention here... I can see it now.

do we need to open a birdie daycare to ensure that Kendi gets enough playtime? you could start a "Mommy-and-Birdie" playgroup! ha!ha!
