"...for a bird of the air will carry your voice, or some winged creature tell the matter..." --Ecclesiastes 10:20

Who is this mysterious winged creature? Light hearted as the air, she laughes at world, the wise, and herself - but watch out if you tread on the humble or the meek. You may find This Winged Creature has told the matter...

I'm With the Animal Rights Camp on This One... [Bird Blog]

Couldn't somebody have just gotten a net? And, even if they did, how hard could they have tried to catch this frightened sparrow? Birds are not real, real, hard to catch - take it from me. Buckbeak and Dortothy love their freedom when they get out of their cage, and The Hub and I round them up with our bare hands. Though I certainly don't agree with the death threats that have been made against the unlucky man who killed the unlucky bird, what I want to know is this:

Who was the idiot who left the window open in the first place?

Those little birds get in everywhere. We used to have 2-4 of them in the Towson Library all of the 5 1/2 years that I worked there. Also during the 10 years that I worked in Columbia Mall there were always birds in the mall. They liked to eat the fallen french fries in the food courts.
At the library it was the security gaurd that would try to catch the birds. I think that the most successful try was with a white sheet. It looked like a window, so the bird would go for it.

I could see in the heat of the moment someone would _want_ to shoot the bird. Since they actually got an exterminator to shoot the bird, it sounds like there was an interval of time that went by (ie - not the heat of the moment). Anyway afterwards - thick appologies and a donation to a local wildlife sanctuary seem called for.
