"They Go Together....."
The Hub thinks these guys are probably "grabbing the wrong joystick"
But isn't that what war is all about, anyway?

The Strangers in a Stange Land
K-Bird has a high level of interest in Admiral and Akbarr, The Hub's two long lived gold fish. Their tank sits catty-corner (or is that kitty-corner?) to her cage, so she has a pretty good view of them.
They have a pretty good view of her, for that matter. I swear that Akbarr is so big I often see him looking, with what could pass for interest in goldfish, at ME, so they can certainly make out the parrot.
Anyway, when it's time to feed the fish....

The Turkey in Burger Joint
Tonight we went to Five Guys, the hamburger place, for supper. We went up and placed our order with the young lady who spoke perfect English, having read the signs, the menu, and what toppings were available.
There is a big sign, written in English, which says "All Burgers Cooked Well Done". Seems pretty straightforward right? I take that to mean that, while they offer every topping in the world, and you can customize your burger any way you want in that regard, they do not customize orders with regard to done-ness. This makes sense to me, because the health department has regulations about how....

Parakeet Dreams
This is a dream I can tell you. A weird dream, but a good dream. One of those "wish fullfilment dreams".
I dreamed there was a new parakeet cage in the space where the old parakeet cage was. So I looked and there was a parakeet in there! It was one of those "lime colored" parakeets, you know: like a cross between a yellow and a green one, with some bars around the head. And he had an ivory colored beak like Blondie did.
It looked like Blondie. Just the way it moved around in the cage and the chirping noises it made...

Law and Order
So, I was telling you about my normal EEG (and my abnormal doctor's office).
E does want me to make one change. We've decided that the amantadine is really not working for me. Specifically, if I take enough to get me through the day (and by this, I mean sitting upright for 8 hours in the office, coming home and making dinner....and that's about it) I have nightmares when I fall asleep. The good news is that I fall asleep enough to HAVE a nightmare, but the dreams are really, really bad. Too scary for me to even write on the blog, and that's saying something.....

What is Normal, Anyway?
Back to Dr. Doglover again today, and the Incredible Extroverted EEG Technician. The Hub went with me so she toned down the male bashing part of her routine, which was a relief to me.
The EEG didn't show anything. Well, it shows that I grind my teeth and don't realize I'm doing it. But that's not a neurological finding. And besides, I knew that already.
The reason why I knew it is because my ex used to wake me up from time to time yelling in my ear "For God's sake! It sounds like you're eating a bag of Fritos over there! Stop grinding your teeth!" And I'd think, Oh, no wonder I keep waking up with a headache.
But, I digress.....

Released
Why is it that, the more a person tries to work, the harder it seems to be? On Friday, I called the Uber-Boss and let her know that I could come back to work on Saturday. Had transportation all lined up, had spoken with E at Dr. Doglover's office to make sure that I had no restrictions besides not being able to drive, and read over my instructions about what to do if I thought I was going to have a siezure while I was alone.....because the Uber-Boss said that she was "concerned" about that.
Actually, we had a long conversation about her "concerns"....

Stuck
Well, the good news is that Dr. Doglover thinks it is likely that me not being careful about the dosage of neurontin I was taking might have brought on the seizure. He says it is an unusual reaction, but not one that is unheard of...and I have a history of being very sensative to medication. Of course, it's possible that I really do have some kind of seizure disorder, so I'm going to have another EEG - and he will be able to compare that to the one I had last year, to see if there are any changes.
The bad news is....

Brain Storm
I've gotta say that this hasn't been a good week.
Sometime in the middle of the afternoon, I opened my eyes because I was trying to figure out why the bed was moving. Then I realized I felt like I'd been hit by a bus. Then I realized I was in an ambulance.
Oh, S*** - I must have crashed the car! I hope I'm up to date on my insurance! I looked around and made out the fuzzy form of a paramedic sitting nearby. Couldn't find my eyeglasses. No ideas.
"Hey there. You know where you are? You remember what happened?...."

Life Without Tweeters
This is a really hard adjustment to make in our house. No tweeters.
It's too quiet in here....and I'm a fan of quiet. Really, I am. I've never been one of those people to have the t.v. on all the time or play the radio mindlessly. For all that the parakeets could get really loud at times, especially in the morning, they mostly provided a very soothing background chatter.
When I was out on disability, I'd have lost my mind without the company of the animals.....
